Cops Seek Teens Who Tried To Snatch Woman’s Purse In Coney Island

Source: NYPD

Police are searching for two adolescent boys they say attempted to rob an old woman while she waited for an elevator in Coney Island.

The unidentified suspects entered the lobby of 2007 Surf Avenue on April 20, at approximately 10am, and tried to snatch the 76-year-old victim’s purse while she waited outside the elevator doors. Perhaps they underestimated the woman’s strength, because they fled empty-handed in an unknown direction.

The suspects are described as black, approximately 15-19 years of age, wearing black and white jackets.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website, or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.
