Police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection to chilling sexual assault that was partially captured on the victim’s home surveillance camera on July 31.

Hector Eduardo Bacsuhul, 25, was arrested by the NYPD’s Special Victim’s Unit within the vicinity of the 77th Precinct on Friday, September 3, at 4:30pm, according to NYPD sources. He was charged with assault, menacing in the third degree, sex abuse in the third degree, and sexual harassment in the second degree.

The victim, a 34-year-old female, was walking near 74th Street and 20th Avenue on July 31, at 2:30am, when the a man described as “Hispanic, with long hair” grabbed her from behind and began to kiss her neck, cops said. The victim resisted and the suspect fled the location. The shaken woman told news outlets that the perpetrator then followed her home and threatened to return.

The incident was initially classified as attempted rape due to threats the suspect made to the victim that he would return to rape her later, said police sources. All the charges against Bacsuhul are misdemeanors, which generally carry a prison sentence of one year or less.
