Bronx Man Charged In Shooting At B’Hurst Vet Clinic
A Bronx man was arrested Saturday evening for firing off a shot at a local veterinary clinic during a failed robbery in October, according to police sources.
Lee Nelson, 40, and an unknown female accomplice allegedly entered the now-shuttered Animal Clinic of Bensonhurst (2249 65th Street) on October 1, pretending to be in need of veterinary care, say cops. Lee pulled out a firearm and demanded a 70-year-old man’s watch. When the victim refused to comply, Nelson allegedly shot at him and missed before fleeing empty handed.
The suspect has been charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment, according to the NYPD. The female accomplice has not yet been charged.
No injuries were reported at this incident.
