Cops After Suspect Who Slammed Judge’s Head Into A Tree On East 16th Street

Cops are searching for a man who slammed a judge’s head into a tree Monday near East 16th Street and Avenue R, ABC 7 reports.
The news channel identified the victim as 60-year-old Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Leon Ruchelsman.
According to police, the suspect shoved Ruchelsman off the sidewalk into a tree Monday afternoon. The judge suffered pain and redness in his left ear, but refused medical attention, cops say.
Ruchelsman told ABC 7 he was not robbed and did not consider the attack to be a bias crime. The motive is currently unknown.
Police released surveillance video of a person of interest wanted for questioning in the attack.
