Cops After Suspect Who Jumped Teen In Coney Island Elevator

Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect who attacked and tried to rob teen in an elevator in Coney Island last month.

The 14-year-old male victim was in the elevator of his building on West 12 Street on Thursday, October 22, at 2:45pm, when the suspect punched him in the eye and demanded his property, cops said. The youth fought with the suspect until the elevator reached the designated floor at which time the suspect fled. The victim received minor bumps and bruises but refused medical attention on scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, 16- to 18-years-old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs 150 to 160 pounds. Police have shared surveillance video of the suspect.
