Continued Construction, Renovations & Repairs On Busy Greene Avenue Block

Several Greene Avenue properties are currently being worked on between Grand and Classon Avenues, as we noted a few weeks back.

252 Greene is undergoing repairs after a fire, and construction seems to be wrapping up at 218 Greene, while 266 (above), a proposed three family building, has its three assigned stories–though it looks quite different from the posted rendering (below).

Also different since we last checked in are the home at 245 Greene and the lot at 247 next door. When we stopped by the other day, a cement truck was pouring a foundation for the future four story, two family home at 247, and we spotted a permit and letter from the Landmarks Preservation Commission for work at the quite dilapidated 245, which is for sale.

The letter at 245 approves renovations to the home’s cellar through third floor (to include the removal of non load-bearing walls, plus mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work), as well as exhaust vent work on the building’s roof–so perhaps a buyer will get a bit more value out of that nearly $2 million asking price in the near future.
