Construction News: 22 Caton Place Begins July 8, School Construction Closes E 8th For A Weekend

Residents between Caton Ave and the part of Ocean Parkway that turns toward Park Circle are about to see even more construction action, as one project finally begins, and another steams ahead.

Some neighbors in the area may have recently received a letter from Hudson and its general contractor, Lettire Construction, regarding the construction at 22 Caton Place. Work on the 7-story, 73-unit residential building is apparently about to start up on July 8, and is anticipated to take about 18 months.

Additionally, it looks like an upcoming weekend will be particularly difficult for residents around the new school construction site on Caton and E 8th. A notice from Silverite Construction states:

Please be advised that between the hours of 7:00 AM Friday July 12, 2013 thru 5:00 AM Monday July 15, East 8th Street between Caton Ave and Kermit Place will be closed to vehicular traffic for crane operation at Caton Avenue.

We’ll keep you updated as both projects continue, and if you hear of any closures or have any other info regarding the construction that neighbors should know about, let us know at editor@kensingtonbk.com.
