Confused About Pre-K? Schools Expert Will Answer Your Questions At The Cortelyou Library On Saturday, March 21

Navigating the world of pre-kindergarten can be incredibly daunting, but the Cortelyou Library Friends Group hopes to be able to help parents and caregivers learn the ins and outs of the whole process at an upcoming event on Saturday, March 21.

From 2:30-4:30pm on March 21, the group will host a speaker from Insideschools.org at the Cortelyou Library (1305 Cortelyou Road, at Argyle Road). The speaker will address the pre-K process, including discussion about options with the city’s new universal pre-K program, as well as talk about their reviews of schools in our neighborhood.

Anyone is welcome to attend the informational session, particularly parents of children who turn four years old in 2015, as those children are eligible to attend free pre-K for the 2015-16 school year.

During the March 21 session, you’ll be able to find out about:

• How and when to apply
• Public school pre-K options
• Community-based organization programs
• Priorities for admission
• Should you go with a full day or half day program?
