Just what we need around here – another gourmet burger joint.

Wahlburgers, the franchise owned by actor brothers Mark and Donnie Wahlberg and their chef brother Paul, will be opening several locations all over the city – including one in Coney Island, Page Six reports:

John Cestare, from Big Apple Burgers, has secured franchise rights from Mark, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg and will be opening seven locations.
The lease is signed on a Coney Island store, to open May 1, and six locations are slated for Manhattan.

And the Coney Island location comes with an added perk: a film crew. Cestare is slated appear on Season 3 of A&E’s reality show, “Wahlburgers,” which features the daily lives of the Wahlberg bros and their Boston-based restaurants. The upcoming New York locations are part of a major expansion of the chain, which includes Florida and Philadelphia.

If you are more interested in food than reality TV, some of the menu choices look pretty drool-worthy, such their Thanksgiving Day, which is an artisanal bun slapped with turkey, stuffing, cranberry, and butternut squash, or Alma’s Macaroni, which sounds it may actually be their mom’s homemade macaroni salad. You can also get a taste of New York with their “dirty water-style” House Dog.

In addition to a respectable selection of Frappes – coffee, chocolate, or vanilla – Wahlburgers offers a full bar of wine, beer, cocktails, and Adult Frappes, which are basically spiked ice cream. Yummy.

Anyway, here’s a clip of Donnie manning the counter, yelling at some guy named after a snack:
