Compost for Brooklyn’s Huge Block Party Is on June 3

Compost for Brooklyn’s annual Block Party is coming up on Sunday, June 3 from 11am to 5pm on East 8th Street between Webster and Newkirk Avenues. It will be jam-packed with information, music, and fun–here are some of the things you can expect:

Recycle e-waste from 10am-4pm with LES Ecology Center (FAQ)
• Dance to live music curated by Primary Records
• Go home with a free tree (via NYRP)
• Enter the famous raffle (donors below)
• Visit the book sale
• Get a free bike bell from NYC Dept. of Transportation
• Pick up free seeds
• Eat great food from the bake sale
• Check out the garden and the compost project

There are some ways you can get involved, as well: Contribute to the bake sale, where all proceeds directly support Compost for Brooklyn’s gardens and programs; volunteer at the event; and/or suggest a workshop or table.

• Learn about Brooklyn Neighbors Composting‘s project in District 39
• Test your knowledge of fermentation and taste sauerkraut with Cantaloupe Alone
