Commemorate The Battle Of Brooklyn Anniversary With A “Scavenger Battle” At BLDG 92

This year marks the 238th anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn, and events are being held around the borough during “Brooklyn Battle Week” to commemorate the events of August 27, 1776. Activities will be held at Brooklyn Bridge Park, The Old Stone House, and Greenwood Cemetery, but we’ve also got one right here in our area–the Brooklyn Scavenger Battle at the Navy Yard’s BLDG 92 (63 Flushing Avenue at Carlton) from 1-4pm on Saturday, August 23.

The free event will feature “trivia, gaming, and historical fun,” including a scavenger hunt featuring “Brooklyn vs. Britain” pop culture clues, a Battle Ship Memory Match game, tea party refreshments, and an interactive arts and crafts timeline. Neighbors are invited to bring friends and family along for the ride.

Although there’s no cost to attend the Brooklyn Scavenger Battle, registration is encouraged. You can learn more about Brooklyn Battle Week events here, and reserve Scavenger Battle spots for you and your fellow troops here. Image via BLDG 92
