Coming Soon: The Cynical Schnauzer, A Restaurant And Bar
If you could name your new business after your best furry friend in the world, what would that name be?
For Przemek Adolf, the answer is The Cynical Schnauzer, named after his 18-month-old schnauzer, Jinkz. The new restaurant is slated to open in March inside 884 Fulton Street — the space that previously housed Adolf’s farm-to-table, zero waste eatery, Saucy [By Nature], which closed its sit-down service a couple of months ago to focus on catering and delivery.
The goal is to separate the two brands, Adolf explained.
“Saucy By Nature will continue to do catering, farm-to-table, global comfort food parties, but it didn’t work well as a storefront,” he said. “Cynical Schnauzer will be much more refined, a sit-down restaurant with a full bar, farm-to-table, and small plates. The space will be geared toward inviting people to come in, have some drinks and good wine, and get bites to eat or stay for dinner. I’m trying to keep the price point in the range of $8-15. The point is for people to share and try things together.”
The decor will be a la “1930s-style Berlin, with heavy draped forest green velvet curtains, vintage glasses for mixed drinks and cocktails, and an eclectic softer atmosphere.”
Good luck to him and we look forward to seeing the finished restaurant come spring.
