Finding an urgent care facility is about to get a bit easier for the neighborhood.

CityMD Urgent Care will be opening a location at 288 Flatbush Avenue (between Park and Prospect Places), in a former Chase bank branch that closed last November.

The 288 Flatbush address is currently listed on the CityMD website, however the phone number there directs to an Upper East Side location. The receptionist who answered that number did not have information about when the location will be open, but permits filed this spring with the Department of Buildings confirm work is being done on the space to transform it into a CityMD, so we might not have too long to wait.

Previous plans for the building included a post office branch which would have relocated from its Boerum Hill location (542 Atlantic Avenue between 3rd and 4th Avenues). However, the relocation was cancelled after a controversial mistake that involved moving the post office to a location that serves a different zip code.

CityMD previously had plans to open a location in the former El Gran Castillo de Jagua space (345 Flatbush Avenue at Carlton Avenue), where the landlord continues to make headlines.
