City Postpones Putnam Plaza Surveying To This Week

The planned “subsurface geotechnical field work” at Putnam Triangle Plaza has reportedly been postponed to this week, October 19-23, according to a notice sent to local merchants via business group Fulton Area Business Alliance.The surveying process had initially been set for last week. but as residents noticed, some drilling occurred Tuesday but then stopped.The city Department of Design and Construction describes the work as consisting of drilling in two locations on the plaza to collect “boring samples” and the digging of two “test pits.” The aim is to ensure that underground utilities and earth are ready for future construction on the site as part of the controversial planned pedestrian plaza build-out.Let us know whether or not you see workers out there today and this week.
