City Begins Removing Dangerous Trees in Ditmas Park

The Parks Department is out in force around the area taking several dangerous trees away after they had been damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

During last night’s powerful nor’easter, trees fell throughout the night.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the city has endured twice as many downed trees as it did during Hurricane Irene. Despite declaring several trees hazardous around Ditmas Park, the overwhelmed Parks Department was unable to take away the trees before last night’s storm. Fallen trees disrupted subway service and traffic numerous times throughout the area.
