CIA Traffic Update
Week ten. We’re still seeing placards, double parked cars, cars parked perpendicular to the curb, and even barricades blocking a lane of traffic and causing backups on Coney Island Avenue.
As for how the situation is being handled by the police, we hear that at this week’s 70th Precinct Community Council Meeting, the Commanding Officer mentioned working with the 66th on common areas between the two precincts, and a neighbor brought up the businesses blocking traffic along Coney Island Avenue, so hopefully there will be some movement there.
And as for lodging complaints, let’s begin a new approach this week:
If you feel the blocked street is a problem, send an email about it to Community Board 12 at bkcb12@gmail.com. Explain why you think it is unsafe, request that they ask for the 66th’s assistance with the problem, and feel free to include the following link to 10 weeks’ worth of photos documenting the problems: /?s=%22cia+traffic%22
You can also try to email the 66th directly, but the only email we have for them is 66pctnypd@gmail.com–if anyone knows of an email address for the 66th that may get a response, please let us know in the comments.
You can also call CB12 at 718-851-0800 and the 66th at 718-851-5611.
