CIA Traffic Update

CIA Traffic Update

Week eight. Even though last week a neighbor noted that the blocked traffic situation on Coney Island Avenue seemed improved for a couple of days, whatever minor improvement there was did not last. The sign at M&M Auto Glass is still placed in a lane of traffic, as are cars that they, and many other businesses along the stretch from Caton south, are working on.

Additionally, as alsivi, who sent in the top photo, notes, on CIA at Cortelyou there is a no standing zone where cars continually park. Furthermore, the situation for drivers hasn’t gotten any better: “Traffic is still backed up on CIA going south and Cortelyou going east.”

Want to help get fix the traffic problems on Coney Island Avenue? Here’s how to do something about it:

• Call the 66th Precinct Community Affairs office at 718-851-5601 and express your concern.

• Contact Community Board 12 at 718-851-0800 and urge them to help.

Vote for the SeeClickFix issue (there’s a “vote” button on the top right) and add a comment there as well.

Report blocked streets and sidewalks to 311, either by phone or online.

• And email us pictures–we’ll keep posting them until something changes.
