Chez Oskar Is Moving To Bed-Stuy In The New Year

Sad news: Chez Oskar, currently at 211 DeKalb Avenue for the past 17 years, will be moving to a new home in Bed-Stuy some time in the new year.

Their new home will be at 310 Malcolm X Boulevard, former home to Simplicity Wine Bar and Cafe — three miles and a brief ride on the A/C line away — for which owner Charlotta Janssen is seeking liquor license approval from Community Board 3 and the state liquor board.

No reason for the move has yet been given by Janssen, whom we have been unable to reach as of publication time, but a restaurant employee confirmed to us that the move is coming.

When that’s happening is also TBD, although Chez Oskar is still taking reservations for the holidays and New Year’s, so we still have time to soak up the art, flavors, and ambiance created by Janssen and her staff.

We’re going to miss having them around so close. What’s your favorite thing about Chez Oskar?
