Celebrate Earth Day By Cleaning Up Local Greenspaces

Today is Earth Day, and if you’re looking for a way to celebrate in the neighborhood, set aside some time to give back to our community at a local event this weekend.

Join fellow volunteers this Saturday, April 25 for a joint event that partners New Voices Middle School, PS 295, the Butterfly Garden, and Slope Park, with support from the Partnerships for Parks Capacity Fund Grant, made possible by the City Parks Foundation thanks to the Parks Equity Initiative of the New York City Council under the leadership of Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, to clean and spruce up some local outdoor areas.

Help out on tree care, garden planting, cobblestone removal, Butterfly Garden clean up, Slope Park learning, recycling overviews, painting of recycling bins, and more — plus there will be raffles and refreshments.

Neighbors of all ages are invited to meet in front the school on 18th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues from 1-3pm.
