Car Break-Ins Plague Kensington, Neighbors Say

After our sister site, Ditmas Park Corner, publisher this article yesterday about car windows being smashed on E. 18th Street, between Ditmas Avenue and Dorchester Road, several Kensington neighbors emailed us about problems they’ve had with vehicles being broken into around the neighborhood.

One neighbor told us that last month there were a series of car windows smashed for several weeks on the Kensington side of Coney Island Avenue.

And neighbor Louis wrote to us that, “this has been going on for some time on my block of East 9th Street, between Beverley Road and Avenue C.”

Louis said that, over the past year and a half, more than a dozen cars have been broken into between the hours of 4am to 6am.

We’d like to start documenting where these break-ins take place. If you’ve had your car broken into or vandalized, let us know when and where it happened. You can comment below or email us at editor@kensingtonbk.com.
