Car Break In On Stratford

Just a reminder to watch out for vehicle break ins, Ditmas Parkers: we spotted this car with its window smashed this morning on Stratford by Matthews. We called the 70th Precinct, but were unable to wait at the scene to file a report via 911 as they advised.

Whether there was a promise of interesting property inside or just someone taking advantage of an empty street has yet to be seen, but Inspector Rodriguez did warn last week that the number of car break ins wasn’t falling like other crime in the area, and the 70th’s most recent CompStat report (above) shows nine reported break ins over a 28-day period. So stay safe, and it can’t hurt to keep your valuables at home.
