Camelia Is Closed, Auctioning Off Equipment Tuesday

After rebranding their Mexican restaurant Piramide as Camelia a little over a year ago, the owners of the space at 499 5th Avenue, between 12th and 13th Streets, have decided to close, and they’re auctioning off equipment today.

“Such a bittersweet moment,” general manager Jessica Mora wrote on Facebook.

Opened in 2007, the space drew us in for everything from scorpion cocktails to $2 tacos, but apparently it wasn’t enough to keep the restaurant going.

The auction is taking place today, Tuesday, January 13 at 2:30pm at the restaurant, and it will be open to inspection starting at 1pm. A listing notes they’ll be selling a Garland six-burner stove with salamander,a two-foot gas flat grill, a Pitco deep fryer, a Posiflex point-of-sale system, 100 dining room chairs, pots, pans, utensils, and more.

Lots of luck to Jessica and her crew on their next moves!
