Bullseye! Target Signs Lease For New Store On Kings Highway
A big-box retailer has their sights on Kings Highway.
Target signed a lease on a 38,081-square-foot site at 1715 East 13th Street, near the intersection with Kings Highway, The Real Deal reports.
The site, currently occupied by a 300-space parking lot, is owned by Infinity Real Estate and Nightingale Properties, who snapped up the property, along with a nearby Kingswood Plaza, in 2014 for $79.1 million, according to The Real Deal.
Property records show the property owners have not filed plans with the Department of Buildings to develop the site in order to accommodate a retail store. The Real Deal was not able to reach the Infinity Real Estate and Nightingale Properties for comment about development plans.
The Target lease is for 10 years, with an option for two five-year extensions, The Real Deal reports.
Target already has three locations in Brooklyn and plans to open a CityTarget, its urban-market brand, in Downtown Brooklyn, according to the Daily News.
