Brooklyn Pub Revs Up For St. Jude Motorcycle Ride Saturday
Sunset Park’s philanthropic REDRUM Motorcycle Club is teaming up with our neighbors over at Brooklyn Pub (6th Avenue and 20th Street) on Saturday to raise money for the kids at Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We caught up with Brooklyn Pub’s Susan Palmer to learn a bit more about the bar, REDRUM, and this weekend’s charity ride.
SSN: First of all, tell us a little bit about Brooklyn Pub.
SP: Philip Meoli is a self taught chef & owner of two Brooklyn Pubs. The first opened 7 years ago in Mount Holly, VT, just minutes from Okemo and Killington ski resorts. The business is largely driven by skiers and snow mobile enthusiasts. The second, located right here in Brooklyn’s South Slope on the corner of 6th ave and 20th street, will be open 3 years come September. The Brooklyn Pub is open 7 days a week and serves a wide variety of pub grub and Italian Specialties! It’s a really cool, fun sports bar and restaurant, and of course is biker friendly!
What is the REDRUM MC?
REDRUM MC was founded in 2006 on the foundation of brotherhood, biking, community, respect, responsibility, fundraising and supporting family. Redrum is a MC based on conciseness of our environment, communities in need and righteousness. The foundation of this MC is positive and righteous behavior. Members are expected to always promote respect, honor, integrity, peace and unity. The best way to promote peace is through strength. Redrum advocates strength as a club and from their members. Democracy is the foundation of Redrum, modeled after the original five Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy, who once fought each other then came together to promote peace and unity. The strength of one arrow is limited but five could not be broken.
How long have you been involved with the club?
Philip has been a member of Redrum Motorcycle Club for a little over two years.
