Brooklyn Pride Comes To 5th Avenue On Saturday

Brooklyn Pride 2014 kicked off yesterday, and following a week of activities, it culminates in the fun Twilight Parade through Park Slope along 5th Avenue. The parade starts at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 14 at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Lincoln Place, and heads up 5th to 9th Street, led by several prominent Grand Marshals: Mayor Bill de Blasio, Public Advocate Letitia James, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, and Council Member Carlos Menchaca.

But of course, that’s not all — prior to the parade, enjoy the festival from 11am-5pm along 5th Ave between 3rd and 9th Streets, featuring local businesses and other vendors, lots of food, and a whole lot of entertainment. At The Old Stone House, there will be a special kids space, with a bouncy house, clowns, music, and more.

For more information about this week’s events around Brooklyn, including a reception at Brooklyn Borough Hall, an art exhibit, an author talk at The Old Stone House, a 5k run through Prospect Park, and more, check out the Brooklyn Pride website.
