Brooklyn Outdoor Markets Reopen This Weekend

Warm weather in NYC means chances to eat and shop outdoors, and this year in Brooklyn you’ve got more options than ever. Several start up this weekend, and though none are in our area, a couple will have food from Ditmas Park businesses. So if you find yourself outside of the neighborhood, be sure to give them some local love.

Smorgasburg: Fresh and packaged food every Saturday from 11am to 6pm in Williamsburg between North 6th and North 7th St, at the East River. Salud will be there again this year with smoothies and snacks, but they say the Ave H shop will be open (but closed on Sundays).

Dekalb Market: Launching this weekend for the season at 138 Willoughby Street in Downtown Brooklyn, the daily market that’s built of shipping containers will have more food and entertainment throughout the season. Purple Yam will be there Saturday with food like their excellent buko pie, and they hope to return for special events again. The Cortelyou restaurant will be open regular hours.

Brooklyn Flea: The Fort Greene spot reopens Saturday at 176 Lafayette Ave, and the Williamsburg spot reopens on Sunday at the same site as Smorgasburg. There are so many art, craft, and vintage vendors that it seems like someone must be selling from our area–if you are, let us know in the comments!
