Broadway Comes To Fort Greene Park On Friday
The cast of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is coming to Fort Greene Park.
Cast members will perform a series of excerpts from the musical about the native Brooklynite for the public on July 15 from 12pm to 1:30pm. The show, which is part of the “Broadway in the Boros” initiative, will be hosted by LITE-FM’s Bob Bronson and Christine Nagy as well as Julie Menin of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME).
“For purposes of transparency in advertising, “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” should probably be titled ‘Brooklyn Girl’,” said Ben Brantley in his review for the New York Times.
The musical tells its story through the use of Carole King’s vast catalog of hits.
Fort Greene Park has seen a series of shows this summer, including movies screened by Alamo Drafthouse.
The show is presented by New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as a part of a partnership with 106.7 LITE-FM.
