Fans are invited to bring their furry, canine friends to MCU Park on Sunday, August 2, when the Brooklyn Cyclones host the eight annual Bark in the Park during their home game against the Batavia Muckdogs.

Drooling, tail wagging and gleeful barking are encouraged at the game. A portion of the ticket sales will go towards the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, which has partnered with the Cyclones for the event.

Pet owners will be able to bring their dogs onto the field for a “parade of pooches” before the first pitch. The stadium’s bleacher section, renamed the “The BOW-WOW Zone” during the game, will be reserved for fans and their pets.

“Every year, Bark in the Park offers New Yorkers the unique opportunity to enjoy a ball game with the entire family — including the four-legged members,” the alliance’s president, Jane Hoffman, said in a press release. “The money raised today will help us raise awareness about New York City’s homeless animals and the Alliance’s efforts to find homes for them.”

At the game, all dog owners will be able to enter a raffle to win two tickets to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY. The frisbee-chasing dogs from Pawstars, the sport dog group founded by Erich Steffensen, will provide on-the-field fun between innings.

Those without pooches will have an opportunity to find a new friend. The Sean Casey Animal Rescue, will host a mini pet adoption fair at the game. There will also be personalized pet tag giveaways, dog licensing center by NYC Department of Health, and free photos for people with their pets. The Office of Emergency Management / Ready New York will hold a clinic for pet owners to learn how to protect their furry friends during emergencies.

Tickets for one person and up to two dogs are $10 for seats in the bleachers section. To purchase tickets in advance, call (718) 382-2604.
