Update: Grady H.S. Teen Shot While Stopping A Robbery
Yesterday’s shooting in Brighton Beach, in which a 17-year-old William E. Grady High School student was hospitalized, occurred as the victim was trying to break up a robbery attempt.

The victim stood up to four would-be robbers who accosted a 16-year-old boy in a park, at the intersection of Brighton Fourth Street and Brighton Fourth Road, adjacent to William E. Grady Career and Technical Educational High School, police, EMS and education officials said.
About 2:50 p.m., one of the suspects opened fire, striking the good Samaritan in the chest.
The boy was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The victim of the attempted robbery was unharmed. Both were students of the school.
Police arrested four individuals and recovered a .9 mm handgun.
