BREAKING: Car Plows Through Chase Bank On Sheepshead Bay Rd
Shards of glass and metal litter the sidewalk on East 16th Street near Sheepshead Bay Road, after an unlicensed driver lost control of his vehicle and plowed into the window of a Chase Bank.
Those at the scene said the vehicle was in reverse, backing out of the B49 bus stop, when he apparently hit the gas instead of the brakes. The car spun out at around 1:00 p.m., and backed through the glass window of the bank at 1519 Sheepshead Bay Road.
Police arrested the 20-year-old male driver for being behind the wheel without a license. The female owner of the car was inside the bank at the time of the accident, and did not face any charges.
No one was injured in the incident.
