Less than an hour ago, a fire sparked in the basement of a Sheepshead Bay home, said FDNY.

The blaze at 2701 Avenue W and East 27th Street sent dozens of firefighters and emergency medical workers rushing to the street corner at around 9am, Friday March 3, said officials. The fire was just quelled at 9:30.

The home is a two-story wood frame building, said officials. While there were no reported injuries at this time, officials do not yet know if anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire.

Earlier this week, another morning fire scorched the top floor of a southern Brooklyn home in Gerritsen Beach at 31 Lester Court, said officials.

The fire sparked on the roof of the three-story home at 11am on Wednesday, March 1 and was under control by noon, said FDNY.

The home was newly renovated under the city’s Build It Back program after Superstorm Sandy, and the homeowners were set to move back in shortly, reports the New York Daily News.

Residents of the Gerritsen Beach home were devastated, reports the Daily. They had been living in a smaller apartment since January, waiting to move back into their home after post-Sandy renovations.

There were no injuries reported.
