B/Q Changes After Two People Struck By Train At Atlantic Ave
Because of police activity at Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center, the B train is currently suspended in both directions between Prospect Park and 145th Street. Northbound Q trains are running on the N line between Coney Island and DeKalb, and southbound Q trains are bypassing Atlantic Ave.
Reports on Twitter say a person was hit by a train at the station.
UPDATE 1:25pm: A spokesman for the FDNY tells us that they got the call just before 12:30pm, and say that two people were involved in the incident. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They were unable to identify the victims or provide additional information just yet.
UPDATE 2:10pm: The MTA reports that the B and Q have resumed with residual delays.
UPDATE 6pm: The Daily News reports it was a 60-year-old woman who died jumped in front of the train, adding that it’s unclear how the person who was injured was involved.
