Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams will honor an emergency room doctor in East Flatbush dedicated to ending gang violence and two animal lovers who rescued a malnourished dog in Prospect Park that was left chained to a tree with her paws frozen to the ground.

Dr. Robert Gore of Kings County Hospital Center, and director of the Kings Against Violence Initiative, will be declared “Hero of the Month” for January, the Borough President’s office said.

Gore was featured in a November, 2015 article in The New York Times. He maintains that “law enforcement alone cannot eliminate violence among young people.” Rather — “a preventive public health approach is needed.”

“The approach that Dr. Gore put in place has become part of a larger effort by the city’s Health and Hospitals Corporation, which has similar programs at Harlem Hospital Center in Manhattan and Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx,” the Times noted.

Good Samaritan Jennifer Williams and animal shelter operator Sean Casey will be named “Heroes of the Month” for February.

The Sean Casey Animal Shelter, located in Kensington, attracted national attention for its care of an abandoned — and extremely ill — dog found by Williams.

Gore, Casey and Williams will all be honored during a ceremony tomorrow at Brooklyn Borough Hall.

The “Hero of the Month” designation honors “the accomplishments of Brooklynites from all walks of life,” the Borough President’s office said.
