Blizzard Watch: What’s Open & Closed Monday Night Into Tuesday

Friends and neighbors, snowmageddon is upon us.

As the afternoon rolls on, the list of business closures is growing, but if you’re looking for some last minute provisions, or even a mid-blizzard beer, a number of stores and bars around the neighborhood will remain open tonight and tomorrow. Be sure to check out the details below:

Schools

All NYC public schools will be closed on Tuesday.

Parks

All NYC parks will close at 6pm on Monday, and will remain closed until further notice. Parks will provide an update on Tuesday morning. In Prospect Park, Lakeside and the Zoo are also closed.

Libraries

All branches of the Brooklyn Public Library will be close at 5pm on Monday.

Medical

Park Slope Veterinary Center (639 4th Avenue at 19th Street): Park Slope Veterinary Center will close at 3pm on Monday, and remain closed on Tuesday. For any emergencies you may contact VERG at 718-522-9400 or Blue Pearl at 718-596-0099.

South Slope Pediatrics (501 5th Avenue, between 12th and 13th Streets): Dr. Cao will be open until around 4pm on Monday. They will update their Facebook page regarding a Tuesday closure, but office staff tells us that they will likely be closed.

CityMD (418-420 5th Avenue, between 7th and 8th Streets): CityMD will close at 6pm on Monday. As of 1pm, they will be open on Tuesday, but employees recommend calling the office before coming in to confirm.

YMCA

Both the Prospect Park (357 9th Street, between 5th and 6th Ave) and Armory (361 15th Street, between 7th and 8th Ave) YMCA will close at 6pm on Monday, and remain closed through Tuesday.

Food & Drink

Steve’s C-Town (327 9th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenue) As of 12:30pm, the store will remain open until 10pm, but the manager notes this may change as the afternoon goes on.

Eagle Provisions (628 5th Avenue at 18th Street) Until 6pm.

Bravo (595 5th Avenue, between 16th Street and Prospect Avenue) Until 6pm.

Coffeeshops

Cafe Regular (318A 11th Street, between 4th and 5th Avenue): As of 12:30pm, Cafe regular will remain open their regular hours Monday and Tuesday (7am to 7pm), but they suggested checking back around 5pm.

Cafe Grumpy (383 7th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Street): Closing at 6pm tonight, and if they open on Tuesday, it will probably be around 9am.

Naidre’s (384 7th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Street): Regular Hours, 7am to 7:30pm, Monday and Tuesday.

OS Cafe (535 6th Avenue, between 14th and 15th Streets): Plans to be open 7am-7pm on Tuesday.

Bars

Quarter Bar (676 5th Avenue at 20th Street): Quarter will remain open from 3pm to 2am, and invites everyone to “brave the destruction to challenge your brain” in their Quiz of Doom. Registration begins at 8:30pm for teams of 4 or fewer. $5 per person.

Mary’s Bar (708 5th Avenue and 22nd Street): Mary’s says that they are “blizzard ready.” Look for hot buttered rum, Jamaican coffee, Irish coffee, hot toddies and more. There’s also free pool until 6pm, and happy hour until 8pm.

The Owl Farm (297 9th Street): Open regular hours (and they have a fireplace!).

South (629 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets): “South will be open and serving up drinks just like we do every day,” the local watering hole wrote on their Facebook page. Queso and Shiner Bock will be flowing from 2pm to 4am.

Freddy’s (627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets): Freddy’s has been stocking up on their blizzard supplies, and should remain open during their regular business hours on Monday, 12pm to 4am.

The Monro Pub (481 5th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Streets): Nicole over at The Monro tells us that (fingers crossed) they’ll be open regular hours Monday and Tuesday, 2pm to 4am.
