Bite Of The Week: Roberta’s Pizza At Threes Brewing

Through this weekend, you won’t have to hike to Bushwick to enjoy some of the incredibly popular Roberta’s pizza, as they’re cooking up pies for a limited time right in our area.

The new Threes Brewing (333 Douglass Street) was originally supposed to host a pop-up from a Roberta’s when the Gowanus brewpub opened in December, but an unfortunate incident in the kitchen prevented them from setting up here until now. But now that they’re here, you better act fast, as they’ll only be around through Sunday, January 25.

Cooked up in Threes’ wood-fired oven, the pizza is just as delicious as what you’ll find in Bushwick — a flavorful, slightly charred crust carries well-balanced toppings, and you can choose from a few options (including the Bee Sting, $16, which has a kick from chili flakes, richness from sopresatta, and a sweet bite from honey), or start simple with a margherita, for instance, and add on veggies, meats, and cheeses from there.

One 12-inch pie is probably enough to fill most bellies, but they do have a couple salads as well, plus they’ve got a brunch menu on the weekend.

Food is available 4pm-midnight during the week, and 12pm-1am on the weekend. Plus, if you’re looking for a special take-out option this week, they’ve got you covered — they’re doing pizza to-go (pick-up only) as well. And because pizza and beer go so well together, you don’t have to leave without some suds — Threes’ growler station recently opened, up on the second floor, where you can pick up a growler of beer to go weekdays from 4-8pm and weekends 12-8pm.

If poutine is more your speed, mark your calendars because Mile End is the next restaurant taking a spot in Threes’ kitchen residency. They’ll be serving up their popular meaty sandwiches here from January 26 through February 15, and Eater reports they’ll be offering their annual poutine week menu (start getting hungry with this past menu) from February 2-8.
