Bite Of The Day: Hamilton’s BLTA

Hamilton’s (2826 Fort Hamilton Parkway between E 4th and E 5th Streets) may be across the Ditmas Park/Kensington border, but if you’re around the area in the afternoon, it’s worth the trek over at least for their all day happy hour. You’ll need something to temper the effect of all those $3 beers, though, which is where their BLTA comes in.

The sandwich ($9) arrives on a baguette with, as you’d expect, lettuce, tomato, and bacon–thicker than you’ll get on a standard BLT–plus avocado. The toasty bread and meat make it majorly filling, but the freshness of the veggies and side salad keep you from feeling too awful about your midday indulgence. It’s only available for lunch, so make sure to stop in on a weekday afternoon if you can.

Hamilton’s (2826 Fort Hamilton Parkway between E 4th and E 5th Streets) is open for lunch Monday-Friday, 11am-4pm; for dinner Sunday-Thursday, 4:30-11pm, Friday and Saturday 4:30pm-midnight; and for brunch on Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm.
