Bite Of The Day: Gourmet Slices From New York Brick Oven Pizza
The first time we checked in with New York Brick Oven Pizza (375 Marlborough Road on the corner of Cortelyou Road) since it reopened under new management, owner Michael Dibari wasn’t planning on offering individual slices. But as anyone who’s stopped in since its early (re)opening days knows, Michael took neighbors’ feedback into consideration and decided to serve them after all. His compromise to give the people what they want, though, is about the only thing he’s compromised on.
We stopped in recently to try a few of the specialty slices Michael now has available in the Marlborough Road space–one with spinach and ricotta and one with eggplant ($3.25 each). Each was deliciously smoky, and had a satisfying texture both in the fresh ingredients on top and the thin crust with just a little bit of crisp below.
If you haven’t been to the restaurant in a while, you might want to stop by–Michael is also offering menu items like hero sandwiches (including cheesesteaks and Chicken Milanese), pasta dishes (including linguini with clam sauce and gnocchi bolognese), appetizers (including fresh Mozarella Capresa and Thai Chili chicken wings), and soup and salad (including arugula and endive salad and Moroccan lentil soup), and we’ve still got our fingers crossed for a revamped dining room in the future.
Until then, you can stop in from 11am-10pm Monday through Saturday, or call 718-282-4222 to see what’s cooking.
