Bike The Branches And Stop By The Windsor Terrace Library’s Events

Dust off your bicycle and show the Brooklyn Public Library a little love by registering for Bike the Branches, taking place on Saturday, May 11 from 10am-5pm. And while on your ride, make sure you stop by the Windsor Terrace branch for one of their events scheduled for the day!

The day-long ride takes participants on an adventure through the borough’s network of 60 neighborhood libraries, and ends with a finish line celebration at the Central Library. Choose your own route (the library has some fun suggestions), and enjoy the weather, while knowing that you’re helping out the BPL. Registration starts at $10 for kids, and goes up for students and adults, and there are discounts for teams. All proceeds benefit the BPL.

Select branches along the way will offer activities, including the Windsor Terrace Library (160 E 5th at Ft Hamilton). With family-friendly events starting there at noon just for Bike the Branches, you should definitely make it a stop on your ride (or swing by, even if you’re not on a bike!).

12pm: South of the Border: Latin American Folktales
Want to hear about trickster guinea pig, a goat, or a magical fan of feathers? Storytellers will weave narration, music, and audience participation into this collation of folktales from Central and South America.

2pm: Rolie Polie Guacamole
In this popular kids band, Frank’s musical style blend’s acoustic rock, funk, and folk with catchy sing-alongs. Kids are encouraged to dance, shake, and use their imaginations in this musical adventure.

3pm: Special Guest Reader Brad Lander
Councilmember Brad Lander will read aloud to kids and families. Any guesses about what he might read?
