Tomorrow is The Greene Affair — Greene Hill School’s annual school fundraising gala to support their sliding scale tuition rates, as well as classes, programs and partnerships in the arts, sports and technology. Even before the 8pm gala inside the school at 39 Adelphi Street, though, you can get your bidding on.

Go online now  and check out the dozens of rather impressive items up for bid in the Greene Hill School’s 2015 Auction. The running list has been picking up steam in the last few days and won’t end until 10:30pm tomorrow night — during the gala! — and the current top items include things like tickets to see Jon Stewart tape one of his final year’s episodes, dinner at Clinton Hill eatery The Finch, a designer satchel, tickets to Wicked or the Tony Awards rehearsal, and a semester of after-school martial arts classes in Park Slope.

Although the auction is closed to kids, that hasn’t stopped them from being involved, begging their parents to bid on things like solar backpacks that will charge your cell phone and Build-A-Bear bears, said Rachael Burton, development director at Greene Hill.

The auction started six years ago with eight parents and a school party to, now, over 200 parents, community members and arts partners,” said Burton. “Now, the Silent Auction is online the whole time and you can bid on your phone from anywhere or even from the party, and an app can bid for you up until your maximum amount. And then we can mail it to you. Then there is also the Live Auction, which is a lot of fun.”

In addition to supporting the school and students, The Greene Affair also supports local artists, restaurants, merchants and the larger sense of community within Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

“We use this as an opportunity to bring parents together and let the local community know we exist and that we’d love to bring them into our school community. It’s a multi-layered event,” added Burton.

Greene Hill is an independent school that serves elementary grades and now middle school students, as well. Tuition ranges “from zero to about $24,000, or a little higher for middle school, at $29,000). There are 132 students and about 116 families from across Brooklyn.
