Bicyclist Knocks Elderly Woman To The Ground On Kings Highway In Failed Attempt To Steal Purse

A bicyclist attempted to swipe the purse off a 76-year-old woman on Kings Highway on Friday, leaving her splayed out on the pavement before fleeing empty-handed.

Cops say that the suspect rode up to the woman at approximately 10:20am on June 19 as she was walking down Kings Highway near the B/Q subway station. He grabbed her purse from her hand, but the victim held on tight. She was jerked to the floor before the suspect let go, and the perp fled up East 16th Street.

No description of the suspect or his bicycle was provided by police.
