Yet another longstanding area home is being replaced with a multi-family apartment building, this time on the quaint stretch of 70th Street between 19th and 20th Avenues.

There has not yet been an application submitted to demolish the single-story residential property at 1972 70th Street, but it is likely only a matter of time seeing that an application, filed November 11 and proposing the construction of a new, four-story, 6,163 square-foot apartment building on the property, is pending approval.

The new building will have five off-street parking spots for its residents, and six apartments in total.

The filing representative is a Fort Hamilton Parkway based architect named Shiming Tam.

The building is a healthy walk from the 20th Avenue N station.

The opposite sides of the street are respectively occupied by a series of stand-alone while the other side of the street hosts a large apartment building
