BAY RIDGE – Yo, Brooklyn! Here’s a chance to catch a classic movie under the stars tonight—Rocky will be playing in John Paul Jones Park.

So pull up a camp chair under the Verrazano Bridge and keep the holiday spirit alive for another hot summer night!

Presented by local Councilmember Justin Brannan and the NYC Parks Department, the film screening is part of the Summer Movies Under The Stars program put on by the city. The event is free, with popcorn provided by the sponsors and free giveaways.

The movie is a perfect way to extend the holiday vibe through Friday—especially if you’re back to work today after the holiday! With no World Cup matches ’til tomorrow, why not watch one of the greatest boxing movies ever made? Definitely no flopping in this sport…

Opening bell is at 8:00 pm, but definitely plan on showing up early to get a decent seat in the park for your blanket or chair. Feel free to bring food, but remember: smoking and drinking aren’t allowed in the park!

Still not sold? Try watching the Rocky trailer and see if the theme song doesn’t get you pumped up!

If you’re coming from afar, the 95th Street R train station is your best bet, or catch the B16/B37 buses all the way down to Shore Avenue—see you there!
