Six weeks after news broke that local restauranteur Chelsea Altman would be teaming with fellow Brooklyn businessowners — and chefs! — Nate Smith and Sophia Kamin to bring Northern California-inspired Bar Bolinas into 455 Myrtle Avenue (formerly home Maggie Brown), the much-anticipated eatery will officially open its doors.

As first reported by Grubstreet NY, Bar Bolinas debuts tomorrow (Thursday, March 26) with a “coastal-American menu and NorCal vibe” accented by a bar top made of California redwood. Meanwhile, the food “expands [Smith’s pantry from Allswell] to include eclectic ingredients with deep roots in California, be they Asian or Mexican.”

“Inspired by West Marin’s unique mountains-meet-the-sea geography, the menu goes heavy on seafood and grilled meats, from raw and broiled oysters to marinated tri-tip with smoky beans. Kamin is handling desserts, like strawberry fool with almonds — and that San Fran shout-out burger bun.

The full menu includes creative gems like a pastured Vermont beef cheeseburger on Dutch crunch bread ($16 with fries), seafood sausages with mushrooms ($16), and grilled sweet potato with broccoli di cicco and chile ($10), alongside cultural infusions such as green chili coconut soup ($8).

See you there!
