When & Where To Attend Community Board 14 Meetings In March


There are many reasons to go to a Community Board 14 meeting – perhaps you’re having a problem in your neighborhood, maybe you’d like to voice your opinion to an elected official, or you’d like to connect with some like-minded civically engaged neighbors – whatever the reason, there are plenty of chances for you to get involved with your community this March!

Joint Community Environment and Transportation Committees Meeting
When: Monday, March 2 at 7pm
Where: CB 14 district office, 810 E. 16 Street
What: Representatives from the Cross Harbor Freight Program outreach team will give an update on the Federal Highway Administration’s and the Port Authority’s Tier 1 Draft Environmental Impact Statement of the Cross Harbor Freight Program, which you can read more about here.

Joint CB 14/CB 7 Transportation Committee Meeting
When: Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30pm
Where: Windsor Terrace Public Library, 160 E. 5th Street at the corner of Fort Hamilton Parkway
What: Update on the city Department of Transportation’s 20th Street Truck Route Area Study – which the DOT launched after more than 200 residents of 20th Street signed a petition in 2010 requesting that the DOT study the truck route on 20th Street, between 3rd and 7th Avenues, to see if the street could be changed to one-way.  Stacey Hodge, the director of the Office of Freight Mobility from the DOT will speak. General Monthly Meeting of Community Board 14
When: Monday, March 9 at 7:30pm
Where: Edward R. Murrow High School, E. 17th Street between Avenue L and Avenue M
What: The board will hold its election for officers, as well as update neighbors on a range of topics, including transportation, public safety, youth services, and more. To see the full agenda, you can go here.

Public Safety Committee Meeting
When: Monday, March 16 at 7pm
Where: CB 14 district office, 810 E. 16th Street
What: 70th Precinct Deputy Inspector Richard DiBlasio will give a report on crime and civilian opportunities for involvement with the NYPD, as well as other reports from police.

Education, Libraries & Cultural Affairs Committee Meeting
When: Tuesday, March 24 at 7pm
Where: CB 14 district office, 810 E. 16th Street
What: Presentation about The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival from director Jason Cusato and  others. There will also be a presentation on pre-K from Andrea Dawes and Jason Reischel, managers of the Brooklyn Outreach Team.
