Attend A Meeting Tonight About The Future Of Q Gardens
The folks behind the effort to create Q Gardens, a community garden in the vacant lot on East 18th Street behind the Church Avenue subway station, have come a long way in six months.
Between neighborhood support, approval to use the lot from Community Board 14, and a licensing agreement with the MTA, the dream of Q Gardens is well on its way to becoming a reality–but there’s still plenty to be done.
The group behind the project will be holding another meeting for anyone interested in getting involved at 8pm tonight in the behind 45 Martense Street (between Martense Court and Bedford Avenue).
Q Gardens organizer Ali Jacobs sent over directions, the agenda tonight, and other information if you’re interested. Read on for more about tonight, plus how to get in touch with the group, and the latest mockups of the garden.
Ali says:
The meeting will be in the back garden of 45 Martense St. Go through the outside door on the left and walk straight to the back, up the stairs and into the garden.
