Apply To Be A Prospect Park Volunteer Leader Through This Wednesday, August 12

If you love Prospect Park and are great with people, you might want to consider applying to be a volunteer leader with our borough’s biggest green space.

The Prospect Park Alliance is accepting applications for the volunteer leader positions through this Wednesday, August 12. The application is an easy one to fill out, and you can find it here.

As a leader, you’ll assist volunteer landscape projects from start to finish — including helping to plan projects, leading other volunteers do everything from removing invasive weeds to painting park benches, introducing newcomers to Prospect Park, and more.

To be eligible for the position, you must:

  • Complete a minimum of eight volunteer leader projects, with an average of one volunteer leader proejct a month int he peak seasons (September to November and April to August).
  • Be able to work four to six hours on each project.
  • Sign up for volunteer leader projects online at least one month in advance.
  • Be in good physical condition (you’ll have to walk long distances & lift heavy items).
  • Have participated in at least two previous volunteer events at the park.
  • Be able to attend a three-hour mandatory fall training workshop on Tuesday, August 25 from 5:30-8:30pm.
