Apply Now To Join Your Local Community Board – Deadline Is This Sunday
Interested in getting more involved in your local community government? The deadline to apply to serve on one of our local Community Boards (CB 7 or CB 12) is coming up fast!
Community Boards meet monthly and discuss everything from overflowing trash bins to potholes and liquor license renewals to city plans to reroute traffic. The local boards don’t have an official say, but they do carry the power of public opinion and can make recommendations to city agencies.
For the first time, anyone 16 years old or older can also apply, as long as they live within the district’s coverage area – CB 7 includes Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park; CB 12 covers Kensington, Borough Park, Dahill, and Midwood.
The deadline for CB 7 and CB 12 applications — which must be notarized and submitted to Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams’ office at Borough Hall — is this coming Sunday, February 15.
For more information about Community Boards please visit here. Visit the Brooklyn Borough President’s website and download the Community Board Application here. Take the hour to fill it out and send it in.
