Apartment Fire on 16th Street Between 4th and 5th Aves

A kitchen fire broke out in a second floor apartment at 177 16th Street this afternoon around 3pm. According to resident Daniel Fogal who lives on the fourth floor, the apartment where the fire started was destroyed, while the ones directly above and below are looking at both smoke and water damage. Thankfully, everyone in the building escaped without injury.

Daniel credited the FDNY for their lightning fast response.

“These guys are amazing,” he told us. “They had a hose in the second floor window within five minutes.”
