Another Sheepshead Bay Electronics Store Robbed By Gun-Wielding Thief
Another Sheepshead Bay cellphone store was robbed Friday night when an armed thief forced an employee to fill two bags with cash and electronics, the New York Post reports.
The robbery occurred at 7:30pm in the Verizon wireless store at Avenue U and East 28th Street, according to the post. The newspaper reports the suspect pulled a gun on a 34-year-old employee and ordered him into a back room, where the worker was forced to hand over smartphones and cash.
The NYPD said they had not determined the amount of money or electronics that had been stolen, but described the suspect as a black man in his 20s, approximately six feet tall, 200 pounds, and wearing a hooded jacket and black jogging clothes.
Cops said they had not determined whether Friday’s heist was related to a string of similar robberies in the area. Since early August, several nearby electronics stores have been robbed. During many of those incidents, workers were also ordered into a back room by one or more suspects brandishing a gun.
