Albemarle Playground Coming Soon to a Theatre Near You
As of 6:00 p.m. tonight, a large tour bus with heavily tinted windows pulled up next to a trailer marked “Wardrobe,” and next to Foodtown along McDonald Ave.
While unconfirmed, the occupant of the bus was likely Vince Vaughn, arriving at an unlikely location – not Hollywood, but Albemarle Playground. He wasn’t there to shoot hoops; he and an of arsenal production equipment and crew, including a couple of cranes, had descended on the play space to set up and take a few dozen feet of footage for his upcoming role as The Delivery Man.
A couple dozen passers-by had assembled along the Dahill Road side of the park. A walkied production assistant yelled out to them, “No pictures, please!”
Kavan Greene, 43, a nearby Kensington resident and his family were among those huddled in the limelight spilling out of the scene.
“We have three boys that are fans of Vaughn,” he said. “We’re hoping we get to see him.”
Slated to debut in October of 2013, the comedy casts Vaughn as a former sperm donor who finds out years later that he fathered hundreds of kids that now want want to meet him. So long as the editor’s cutting board is kind to our neighborhood, one of those encounters might occur, if you watch closely enough next year, right behind P.S. 230.
